Class & Group Programs

Visit the Aquarium from the comfort of your own school, center, or home. Choose from the variety of program topics below. Each involves views of our animals and a live Q&A session with an Aquarium team member host.

All programs take place on Zoom. A Zoom link will be emailed to you the day before the program. Virtual programs do not include Aquarium admission. Program availability is subject to change as programs are booked. Participating parties are responsible for having internet access. Payment is required upon registration. We recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance.

Virtual - Aquatic Storytime

[Recommended for preschool to 1st grade]
Settle in and listen to a story about an amazing Aquarium animal. View the story characters’ exhibit in the background. After, meet the living versions of the animals and ask plenty of questions.

Choose from one (1) of the following:
• Sharks (Shark Gallery)
• Turtle and Tortoise (Tropical Forest Gallery)
• Jellyfish (Coastal Boardwalk Gallery)
• Hermit Crab and Invertebrates (Coastal Boardwalk Gallery)

Virtual - Habitat Exploration

[Recommended for Kindergarten through 2nd grade]
Visit the Ohio Lakes & Rivers Gallery to study freshwater habitats. Then, explore the Shark Gallery to study a coral reef habitat. Discover the differences in how animals survive in these vastly different ecosystems. After exploring both exhibit spaces, compare and contrast the two exhibit spaces and become a habitat expert.

Virtual - CSI

[Recommended for Kindegarten through 2nd grade]
Explore how our wide range of animal residents get oxygen, find food, use water, and seek shelter. Learn about the fascinating diversity of adaptations found in the animal world and at the Aquarium. Creature Science Investigators is always a favorite for class field trips. It translates well to the virtual world, where students can get up-close, unobstructed views of animal adaptations in each gallery.

Virtual - Aquatic Adaptations

[Recommended for 3rd grade through 5th grade]
Learn about the fascinating diversity of adaptations found in the animal world and at the Aquarium. Discover how specific adaptations help animals survive and thrive in their habitat. Look at structures and functions on this virtual adventure

Virtual - Energy Required

[Recommended for 3rd grade through 5th grade]

Animals are part of a much larger system of interactions than we might think at first glance. Each organism at the Aquarium has an important role in its ecosystem. Take a journey into food webs and learn about predator-prey interactions. Explore deeper topics along the way, including invasive species, symbiotic relationships, and where humans fit in to ecosystem health.

Virtual - Rainforests of Earth & Sea

[Recommended for 6th grade through 8th grade]
The Aquarium has a diverse mix of freshwater and saltwater ecosystems from across the globe. Learn about biotic and abiotic factors of a few of them, while getting an up-close view of the animals. Dive into conservation of endangered habitats and species and how to help from home.

Virtual - Shark Exhibit Encounter

[Recommended for all ages] 
Drop in on the variety of species residing in our 230,000-gallon shark exhibit. Hear how we care for such a wide range of species, learn about the different adaptations among the animals, and find out where all of these fish fit in the food chain. Come prepared with your questions about sharks, eels, stingrays and ocean fish.

Virtual - Stingray & Coastal Exhibits Encounter

[Recommended for all ages]
Get up close and watch our stingrays gracefully swim by, while learning about their interesting adaptations and life history. After, take a virtual walk around our Coastal Boardwalk gallery, seeing the giant Pacific octopus, seahorses, moon jellies and much more.

Virtual - Freshwater Exhibits Encounter

[Recommended for all ages]
Take a live, online trip through Greater Cleveland Aquarium’s freshwater galleries and exhibits to learn about animals native to Ohio, Asia and Indonesia, and South America, including catfish, gar, turtles, birds and many others. You can ask questions while gaining an appreciation for the often-overlooked freshwater diversity in our world.

Virtual - Full Tour

Take a live virtual tour of all Aquarium galleries with an Aquarium Educator. Visit the Ohio’s Lakes and Rivers, Asia & Indonesia, Industry & Habitat, Coastal Boardwalk, and Shark Galleries. Ask questions at any time along the way.
