2023 Free Passholder Programs

Passholders can take a sneak peek behind-the-scenes in freshwater, complete a craft with one of our team members, enjoy storytime, get a complimentary photo from the photo booth or just enjoy the Aquarium in a more intimate setting.

Date: Sunday, May 28 @ 5-7pm

Join an Aquarium Educator on a Summer Urban Bird Walk. We’ll find as many birds as possible and contribute to citizen science as we log the data in real-time using the eBird app. Compare bird species in the industrial flats to lakefront property at Metroparks’ Wendy Park. The Aquarium provides binoculars and a guide to common birds in the area. Please dress for the weather, this event takes place outside.

Cost: FREE for Passholders
Duration: up to 2 hours
Total Hiking Distance: 2.5 miles
Date: Wednesday, July 5 @ 10am – noon

Wake up to sharks! This exclusive program gives you access (virtually) to see sharks before the Aquarium opens for the day. From the comfort of your home, observe shark adaptations, discover the important role sharks play in the ocean ecosystem and learn how we can help sharks form anywhere in the world. Come with questions, this interactive experience allows for Q&A throughout. This program takes place online. Advance paid registration is required and Zoom link will be emailed prior to the program. Participating parties are responsible for internet access.

Cost: FREE for Passholders; $10 per screen general (recommended no more than 4 participants per screen)

From the comfort of your home, check out a lamprey’s sharp teeth, peer into the piercing eyes of a tree python and admire a red-bellied piranha’s shiny scales. Ask questions and interact with an Aquarium Educator along the way. This program takes place online. Advance paid registration is required and Zoom link will be emailed prior to the program.
