From bright reds and pinks to shimmering whites, discover how aquatic animals use color to stand out and show affection. Learn about unique courtship rituals and the surprising ways Aquarium animals attract their mates.

Wednesday, March 25, 2026 – Small Traits, Big Adaptations
Ever wonder why a catfish has whiskers, how sea stars walk or what a shark’s skin feels like? Splash into spring to discover the tiny traits that allow animals to survive. (Take advantage of this special rate for home learners and experience Home School Family Days AND Spring Discovery Days, when we focus on the little things that are big deals for smaller species.)

If I have an Annual Pass, do I need to register for the homeschool family day?
Yes, to ensure we have sufficient supplies prepped, please register in advance.
Is there space to eat lunch?
Yes, space is available to enjoy a packed lunch. Please note there are no food vendors on-site.
Does the program fee include Aquarium admission?
Yes, the program fee includes admission and activities.
What ages are best-suited to this program?
Aquarium exploration can be a learning experience for all ages. However, we have activity sheets created for those at the K-3 and 4-8 levels.
What happened to the educator-led classes?
The class format we offered in the past was misaligned with the capacity and registration flexibility needs of our homeschool family audience. Offering the Homeschool Family Days and the Co-op Class formats better meets the needs for the majority of our homeschool family audience.
