Media Announcements

As a precautionary measure, the Greater Cleveland Aquarium has closed temporarily.   The Aquarium will share updates and our anticipated reopening via the website and social media as we follow this ever-evolving national crisis.

The Aquarium team wants everyone to know they will provide the same high level of care for the animals.  Core staff members are on-site for feeding, cleaning and other critical activities. There are significant back-of-house needs but we’re committed to finding ways to address them without revenue.

Trying to reach us?

We recognize this is a stressful time for everyone. To conserve resources, only the animal care team is working at this time. We promise that our administrative team will get back to you when they are back at work.

What about my expiring general admission tickets?

If your ticket expires during this closure period (beginning March 15, 2020), we will honor it when we reopen, extending its end date for the same length of time we are closed. Remember, if you purchased a ticket online, it is good for 2 years from the date of purchase. If you won or received a complimentary ticket, it expires 1 year from the date printed on the front.

Will my Annual Pass be extended?

Annual Passes most definitely will be extended the length of the closure. And if you were up for renewal during the closure, we’ll offer you the monthly renewal discount when we reopen.

What about an event I planned to host or attend (ZZZs in the Seas, Adult Swim, Fieldtrip, Tour, Shark Dive CLE, Birthday, etc.)?

Currently we are focused on the health of the animals. There is no administrative staff working at this time.

The Aquarium has a no refund policy, however once our reopening has been determined and members of our administrative team are back to work we will prioritize extending, rescheduling and/or trading opportunities.

We recognize this is a stressful time for everyone. We truly appreciate your patience and support.

Please protect yourself and your family. We look forward to seeing you again soon.  For updates on our animals and reopening, watch for emails or check back here.
